I've Never Relate to Mulan More

I've Never Relate to Mulan More

To all the strong women who don't always feel so strong! 💘

My alarm went off at 6 am on Monday. As I hopped out of bed, I proceeded to get my dog a bowl of food and start my morning. I walked into my bathroom, glanced at my face in the mirror, looked down into my sink, then back up again to do a double take. “Who is that girl I see staring straight back at me?” Disney really blessed us with Mulan, lol! On certain days, it speaks to me more than others.

After ruminating in anxiety over the day ahead and negative self-talk, I could finally diagnose myself: imposter syndrome. It must be. Today, I don’t feel like a good mom, I don’t feel successful at work, and a part of me even feels like my friends don’t like me. Newsflash: none of this is true

Maybe your day doesn’t look exactly like this, but we all struggle with feelings of inadequacy from time to time. The worst is when we feel underqualified, but are still expected to show up and do what we were born to do.

Read that again. Do what you were BORN to do!

Perhaps you were made for such a time as this. Perhaps you went through hard things for such a time as this. Perhaps you gained the experience and the knowledge for such a time as this. Whatever is on your plate weighing you down wouldn’t be there if no one thought you could do it. Have confidence because others have confidence in you. There is a reason even in the madness! 🙌

Whatever role you’re playing, whether it's mom, daughter, coworker, or boss, know that your vulnerability and honesty with yourself are the key ingredients to your ability to show up wholly and authentically. Have you given yourself internal permission to prosper? (Jacqueline Schadeck) Or, are you feeding yourself lies that tell you that you won't succeed? We must make the choice to believe we are good enough because WE ARE!

When you go to bed tonight and set that alarm for tomorrow morning, decide what your internal dialogue will be saying when the alarm goes off in eight hours (or less if you’re a mom to a toddler!)👶🏽

You have it in you. Decide that you are good enough and show the world!

You are so loved.
