In Case You Missed It: 2023 Vision Board Party Recap
Whether you were impacting, impacted, or both, our 2023 Vision Board Party was marked by one word: impact.
We danced a little and laughed a lot. Cried a little and learned a lot. And most importantly, put some major goals in motion. There’s something to be said about the vulnerability of sharing your dreams with others. We left the party feeling closer and more connected to one another than when we came. 💞
In case you missed it, we put together our biggest takeaways from the party:
💖 Laying out your dreams and visions in front of you is both inspiring and necessary. Hundreds of dreams filled the room on Saturday. When we visualize our dreams altogether, it helps us set reasonable goals and action items that we are motivated to take right away. Instead of a vision in the back of our minds, we took the first step: bringing our visions to life right in front of us.
If your vision board looks anything like mine, it’s filled with all the things you love (because this is what dreams are made of *cue Hillary Duff). I’ve got happy dogs, bookshelves, cycling, and my favorite bible verses. It’s a complete vision laid out in front of me of what I truly want my life to look like this year - my road map! 🗺
💖 Discussing your dreams with others challenges you to have a vulnerability that brings you closer to each other. This is so important when building relationships! It can be scary to share your big dreams, but when it comes to setting goals, this is the best way to stay accountable. Pro tip: Daughters are the BEST accountability partners because they’ll call you out on anything! 😂
It’s also a great way to bounce ideas off of one another. Collaborating with others often creates the best outcome because the person beside you, whether it’s your mom or your best friend, has different experiences than you.
We build courage by sharing our ideas and more courage = more creativity. Your dreams are worthy, and girl, did we see so many incredible dreams begin to come to life in one room! 💫
💖 Your relationship with your daughter is the most important in her life. Similarly, your relationship with your mom is the most important in your life. This is the duo that shapes our lives! She is the one we need to be letting into our minds - the good, the bad, and the ugly. You set the example of how to make decisions and how to get through difficult times. Most importantly, you are the lens she looks through the most.
How she sees the world is dependent on what she is surrounded by. With you being the most important relationship in her life, her perspective of this world is very similar to yours because she learned it from you.
Become the best version of yourself for her (and for you!) Be open with her about your dreams and be courageous and she will be too!
If I could press replay on our Vision Board Party, I would. I walked into that room tired from the week but walked out with a vision of who I am becoming and the courage to face the hurdles that stand in the way.
