5 Traits of a Successful Woman

5 Traits of a Successful Woman

I am still riding the high from our vision board party! 🤩 It’s encouraged me to think through my daily actions and how I can make the most of every moment. Where we end up at the end of the year is dependent on how we utilize our time today.

I asked myself, what do I need to do today to find success tomorrow? After paying attention to the habits of the most successful women in my life, I narrowed them down to five traits of a successful woman

1. She is not afraid to dream big! 🙌 So often, we get lost in our daily routines. We want to find success, but we're afraid of the cost. Maybe you're afraid of letting go of something to spend more time on your goals or maybe the idea of other people's thoughts is holding you back.

The successful woman knows the risk of putting herself out into the world. She knows that she will receive both good and bad feedback and that people will say things she may not like. She knows her expectation of success will take a lot of hard work and potentially a lot of late nights. But, ladies… she knows the reward at the finish line!

2. She has clear goals and is aware of the process it takes to reach them! ✔️ Until your goals define a system or a process to make your big dreams come true, they aren’t clear goals. We must break our dreams down into a start, a finish, and everything in between.

So you want to open your bakery? That’s great! But you need to get your business license, obtain a commercial kitchen, narrow your recipes down to a few key best-sellers, and plan your launch party… so many goals to be achieved!

Breaking down our dreams into goals helps our major dreams feel more achievable. I think this is why we often are afraid to start - because the process is overwhelming until we define it clearly.

3. She learns the skills needed to help her reach those goals! 🧠 This is a goal all on its own! Successful women are smart women. I’m not saying you need to know everything, but you do need to do your due diligence and master all things YOUR goal.

To make it simple, if you want to write a novel about a girl and her dog set in 1977 in the town of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, you’re going to need to know a little bit about dogs, Lancaster, and the year 1977.

You have so many resources surrounding you. Just as you can be a resource to others, others can be a resource to you and help you become an expert in your field.

4. She surrounds herself with a supportive community! 👯‍♀️ Every girl needs friends who show up for her! She needs friends who are honest with her, gives her feedback that will help her grow, and encourage her to keep moving forward no matter how many times she’s fallen.

In her book “Big Magic”, Elizabeth Gilbert gives us a glimpse into the days before she became a well-known author. She submitted draft after draft, book after book, and was turned down multiple times. This probably felt like ten steps backward, but with supportive friends, your step backward turns into two steps forward, a big hug, and a journey you’ll never forget... and maybe even a best-selling book!

5. She paves her path as a leader, not a follower! 💁‍♀️ So many people have brought so many ideas to life, but no one has brought one to life with your perspective and your uniqueness. The successful woman knows her experiences have gifted her a unique knowledge that she applies to the world to achieve her goals.

In other words, you don’t have to follow the influencers on social media. You can certainly take parts of what they did well and apply them to your goals, but recognizing what you bring to the table and your ingenuity will pave your path to success.

We all want to achieve our dreams. I want that for you and I want that for your daughter.

What are you going to do today to start reaching those goals? 💫
