3 Friends We All Need in our Lives
Happy Galantines, lovely ladies! 💗
If you haven’t read last week's blog yet, we talked about all things success. As a reminder, a successful woman surrounds herself with a supportive community. Galantines is all about expressing love and gratitude for the girlfriends in our lives that make us better. ✨
We are meant to be in community and surrounded by one another working for a common good. It’s the people we choose to surround ourselves with who shape us.
For this reason, we’ve put together a list of the 3 types of friends we all need in our lives:
💞The one who supports you
Traits: Usually very caring and wants to be there to cheer you on in your great moments and be a shoulder to cry on in your not-so-great moments.
Why we need this friend: We need to feel supported, like we matter (because we do!) It can be so easy to fall into the trap of “miss independent”. It’s great to be self-sufficient, but some days we need a little bit of a perspective change and a whole lotta love.
The supportive friend reminds us of the power of having someone walk alongside you. 🥂
🦋 The one who inspires you
Traits: Usually pretty ambitious herself; she’s passionate about her work, but most of all, she’s curious.
Why we need this friend: She inspires you to live with a touch of curiosity. New and crazy ideas, trying new restaurants, exploring new places… Being intentional about spontaneity helps us bring out our most creative selves. I’m the culprit of getting lost in the day-to-day and sticking with my routine while chasing after my own goals. I’ve recognized that sometimes life starts to feel a little dull or the work or goals we are pursuing become boring when we don’t allow a little bit of creativity and adventure into our lives. Creativity reminds us of our purpose.
The inspiring friend reminds us to live a curious and creative life. 🥂
🙌 The one who motivates you
Traits: Usually very encouraging and hardworking; she’s the one that pushes you to get up outta bed and get your ish done (lovingly of course).
Why we need this friend: I never said routines are a bad thing - we still need them! Without an established routine geared toward our goals, we may never reach them. The motivating friend reminds you of the importance of discipline. Sometimes we have to see the work needed to be done now so that we can reach goals on the other side. When we surround ourselves with hardworking people, we are more inclined to do the same.
The motivating friend encourages us to pursue our purpose every day. 🥂
The thing is, not one trait that these friends hold is complete without the other. To be well-rounded, we need support, inspiration, and motivation. Maybe your best friend is all three. Regardless, we can’t be all three for ourselves - we need positive outside voices speaking into our lives. We weren’t meant to live this crazy life alone!
So, here’s to our incredible friends who help us become our best selves, and here’s to us doing the same for them 🥂
