I Am a Teenager

I Am a Teenager

If I had a dollar for every conversation I had with a teenage girl that was rooted in their desire for their moms to truly know them, I’d be close to rich.

From my experience, the disconnect often comes from the reactions to unfavorable comments, thoughts, and/or points of views. Contrary to old- school belief, proximity and a title won’t give you access to your girls, just visibility.

The concept of “working” for the respect and trust of a human that you’re literally nurturing is mind-blowing. Yep, I get it and wholeheartedly agree, because “sis, you wouldn’t be in the position you are without me”!

Remember two things can be true simultaneously. We may feel disrespected while our daughters may feel disregarded.

Studies show that your daughter’s self-esteem, body image, and perspective on life stem from the health of their relationship with you. How are you going to build your relationship with your daughters?

Happy growing season loves.
