Keep Your Fears To Yourself…

Keep Your Fears To Yourself…

Hey Girl, Hey!

So, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle started a podcast called Archetypes and it has inspired me. Of course on her inaugural episode, she came out of the blocks on fire, having a conversation with recent tennis retiree, Serena Williams. You have to go listen to it for yourself and if you regret the time spent, then we owe you a soda (or “pop” for you mid-westerners). :-)

“I think it’s important when you’re raising a child that you don’t
let them take on your fears.”
- Serena Williams

Those words stuck with me as Serena spoke about her transition to motherhood as a star athlete. As the duo chatted, they called out how fearless adult women once were before life experiences conditioned them to be more cautious. Facts on facts, on facts!

I’m curious to know what fears, or negative mindsets, you’ve unintentionally passed down to your girls. Maybe it’s regarding making new friends, money management, distant family, or even a fear of heights.

My encouragement is simple, this week conduct a fear audit on your relationship with your girls and evaluate how you can increase your intentionality to promote their fearlessness.

Keep your fears to yourself, sis!

Pssht…it’s topics, and guided exercises, like these that we focus on with you and your girls in The Savvy Hurdler! The healthy conversation and community are bar none…trust us, tap in!
